MagmaMax™ Series Extra Heavy Duty Casters
Capacity Range: 1,000 – 9,000 lbs. Temperature Range: -22 – 750° F
The new MagmaMax Series represents Hamilton’s highest load-rated casters for high heat applications. With a max load rating of 9000 lbs. and a max heat rating of 750°F, the MagmaMax is well-suited for the heaviest loads in the hottest environments among industrial applications.
Massive autoclaves and product finish systems in heavy manufacturing, energy, and aerospace industries are just a few applications these casters are designed for.
The MagmaMax series are essentially Hamilton’s proven and reliable Super Endurance Series and a new Kingpinless Maxi-Duty (MDK) Series with the same forged steel swivel construction but equipped with special high heat grease in the raceways, special high heat precision shielded ball bearings in the wheels, and painted black.

Swivel Construction
MD: 5/8" thick drop forged steel mounting plate (rigid plate 1/2" thick); 3/8" x 5" precision laser cut steel contoured legs are welded inside and outside to forged steel horn base.
SECK: Forged steel top plate and fork base; 3/8" x 3" plate steel legs welded inside and outside to forged steel horn base.
FMK: 3/8" thick drop forged steel mounting plate; 5/16" x 2 1/2" plate steel legs robotically welded inside and outside to forged steel horn base.
Kingpin
MD: 1 1/4" diameter integrally forged with mounting plate guaranteed for life, prevents bending or breaking; threaded for 1 1/4" slotted nut secured by roll pin for positive locking.
SECK: is kingpinless.
FMK: 1" diameter integrally forged with mounting plate guaranteed for life, threaded for 3/4" diameter lock nut.
Main Load Bearing
MD: HPI™ thrust bearing with outside diameter of 7 1/2"; raceways hardened to 58-62HRC and ground to surface finish 16 micro inches.
SECK: 3 5/8" diameter CNC-machined and hardened raceway with 5/8" balls.
FMK: CNC-machined 3 1/4" diameter raceway; 1/2" diameter hardened and polished steel balls.
Secondary Load Bearing
MD: 1 1/4" precision tapered thrust bearing counteracts radial thrust.
FMK: 1" precision tapered thrust bearing counteracts radial thrust.
Axle
MD: 1 1/4" diameter grade 5 hex head with slotted nut and cotter pin.
SECK & FMK: 3/4" diameter hex head with lock nut.
Lubrication Fittings
MD & SECK: Ball-check type in swivel assembly and in wheel hubs with tapered or straight roller bearings.
FMK: Ball-check type in swivel assembly and wheel hub.
